Social AR Storytelling Platform
RealityHack x Snap LiveAR @AWE

SnapSEEK is a gesture-powered augmented reality(AR) experience for Snap Spectacles that lets users frame parts of the real world with their fingers, then turns those captures into playful AI-driven stories, challenges, and discoveries. Built with Lens Studio and OpenAI-powered scene understanding, it explores how natural hand gestures can make the world around us feel more interactive and alive.

Highlight #1
Bringing Snap’s Identity into AR

SnapSEEK started as an exploration of how Snap’s core ideas of capture, create, and connect could come to life in AR. We used that as a foundation to imagine more place-based, story-driven experiences where people could interact with the world around them and share it in a more playful way.

Highlight #2
Designing Around Natural Gestures

We explored a gesture system built around natural hand actions, using a two-handed pinch on opposite corners of a rectangle to frame a photo in space and capture it on release. Also an open-palm and close-palm gestures to open the bag and collect objects. The interaction flow felt physical, direct, and intuitive.

Highlight #3
Play Modes

We explored different play modes to see how the concept could support different kinds of experiences, from a single-player, story-driven scavenger hunt to a multiplayer time-based competition. This helped us think through how the same core mechanic could create both more personal exploration and more social, fast-paced play.

Highlight #4

At AWE, we presented SnapSEEK through live demos, showing how the experience worked in real time and how the interactions came together on Spectacles. Recent progress by my teammates have taken the experience to the next level around a chinatown experience, with invitation to Lens Fest.
